What sounds like a simple statement is anything but. The journey from concept to full realization of a finished product has many stages (imagination through execution, editing, proofreading, cover art, blurb writing, and promotion…just to name a few). Professional editing is undoubtedly the most important stage after you have written your story, whether it is a lengthy super-novel or a fast-paced short story/novella.
As your editor, I will scour your manuscript for opportunities to bring more life to your characters and their scenes, while watching for pitfalls of timing, pacing, wordiness, grammar issues, sentence structure, tense usage, etc. all in an effort to help you create the manuscript you envisioned at the start of your journey.
My Goal
My goal, as your editor, is to polish a story without negatively affecting your author voice. I will work with you to bring to life that which lives in your mind and soul. At its heart, this stage of the process should feel collaborative in order to create a manuscript that is everything you want it to be.
